Adding TTS to Garmin c530

Recently, I got bored with listening to my wife's boring Garmin C530's none text-to-speech(tts) GPS unit. This unit is something like $200 cheaper than the Garmin c550 which comes with text-to-speech. Text-to-speech is the feature that allows the GPS to say "Turn right on Main Street" instead of what the c530 does, which is "Turn right at the next road".

I jumped on my good friend google.com and started doing some searching for mods that have been done to the c530(basicly the same as the c510). I quickly came across GeePeeEx's tutorial on adding TTS to the c530.

After accidently deleting all my wife's points of interest, I got TTS working on the c530.

Thanks for the great mod GeePeeEx.com.

Wow. That is excellent information. That's something that I never thought possible.
