It's been a while.

Last time I wrote on here, we had just purchased a new video camera and I said I would write again about it's performance. Well, the JVC hard drive video camera made the long trek to Europe with Katie and I in February to visit my family. Before the trip, I did purchase the extended JVC battery that advertises 3 hours of battery life. I initially bought it from Best Buy, but while I was at a Army base in Germany, I found the battery for $50, so I bought it, and returned the Best Buy battery when we returned.

So how'd the camera do? It was awesome. It never ran out of battery or hard drive space. I shot hours of footage, from the top of a 9000 ft. high glacier, to a bus tour of the Alps, it did great. Even with the larger(in size that is) extended battery hanging off the back of the camera, the unit is still small enough to fit in a jacket pocket.

We are, however, still looking for a walking stick/mono-pod camera mount, for me to use as a walking stick when I need it, and a camera pod when that is needed.

Another problem that I have run into, is video editing software. I can't seem to find the software that came with the camera, and all of the demos that I have tried of software have left me with a bad taste in my mouth from their hard to learn interfaces.

Pictures from the trip can be found at here.
