Bethesda Softworks was supposed to release a teaser video from the highly anticipated Fallout 3 yesterday. They seem to have failed to deliver.

Xcom, Total Annihilation, and Fallout. These series are among the greatest games ever released during the past 20 years of computer gaming. Xcom has recently seen a sequel release under the title UFO: Extraterrestrials. Total [Read More]

2004 Honda S2000 For Sale

I'm working on selling my father-in-law's 2004 Honda S2000. It has less than 10,000 miles and is in excellent condition. It is adult owned, obvoiusly, and has been garage kept.

Between my brother-in-law's 350+ hp Z06 Corvette, my TorRed Daytona Charger, and this Honda S2000, the S2000 is the most fun to drive.

  • 2.2l, DOHC VTEC
  • 240hp
  • 0-60 in 5.5
  • < 10,000 miles

TSA Saves the Day

Over the past couple months I have boarded planes through TSA "secured" airports over a dozen times. These secured airports are guarded by some of USA's finest underachievers. They are trained, and have honed the skills, to deter travels from boarding planes in under an hour, with dangerous factory sealed beverages, and without having to remove at least 3 articles of clothing.

They idioticly force you to remove laptops from their [Read More]

The other night my wife got a message on my cellphone from Wachovia Loss Management. They said that they were calling to confirm some charges on her(our) account and could we please call this 800 number. I went on to Google and did a search for that number. No hits. I then searched Wachovia.com. No hits there either.

Of course by this time I'm very interested to know why someone is calling from Wachovia, yet the number they leave to return the call on is not listed on their website. I give them a call to see [Read More]

Cellphone Fishing

I recently went tubing with my old Nokia cellphone. This gave me the perfect opportunity to upgrade my old phone with a new, Samsung BlackJack.

When my wife and I upgraded our phones last time, I decided that I was tired of having the newest phone on the block, and since I never use the camera on my cellphone, I went for the cheapest, feature-less Nokia in the store. I served me well for about 8 months, until I went tubing with it in my pocket.

Three Years Down

Almost three years to the day, I received my custom fit Bledsoe Thruster Brace. This brace is designed to help force my leg to carry more of my body weight on the part of my knee that is in the best condition.

In the past three years Ellen Ingram hasn't once contacted me to apologize for attempting to do a three point turn in the middle of a two lane highway. She of course lied to the police about having automobile insurance, when she hadn't had coverage in over two years.

It is my [Read More]

Being a web developer, I am constantly on the search for application that will help me with my development, or that I should at least be aware of. I recently found software package that I believe will change the face of development testing.

If you are like most freelancer developers, the only "sandbox" environment that you have is a dev folder on your shared server, or a sub domain where you stack all your development files. You have to create a dev database, the dev ftp account and then worry [Read More]

Survived Another Surgery

The surgery went well. The doctors got all but two screws out, and only decided to leave those in because they would have caused more damage to get them out, than they were worth. From the knee scope pictures, the doctors determined that I have zero cartilage on the inside of the right knee, but great cartilage on the outside of the right knee.

The doctors think that I can start using unloader brace that I might be able to make it without joint replacement. If the unloader brace is not able to do the trick, then joint replacement is the only option that I will be left with.

I'll be on [Read More]

Going Under the Knife Again

Almost three years after Ellen Ingram played chicken with me and my motorcycle, my doctors have decided that I need surgery. Actually, I need three surgeries. Later this month I will have the metal removed from my leg. During this process, they will also scope my knee to determine if I will need a second surgery, which is much more severe.

If needed, the second surgery will follow later this year. It will entail cutting a pie shaped piece of the shin bone, in order to drop down the inside part of the joint. This surgery would leave me on crutches for months, but would hopefully solve the [Read More]

Double Taxation in the 21st Century

I just received my state vehicle tax bill in the mail. I've can't for the life of my understand how it can not be double taxation to issue a state property tax on an item that I have already paid sales tax on, and pay the yearly "safety inspection"? tax.

Double taxation as explained on wikipedia.org is "Double taxation is a situation in which two or more taxes may need to be paid for the same asset, financial transaction and arises due to overlap between different countries' tax laws and jurisdictions."?

So if I am [Read More]
