Yesterday was the nationwide event dubbed "A Day Without Immigrants." No, no, they didn't mean that the illegal immigrants had gone home. It was the day the illegal immigrants used to show the "economic clout" they have on the US economy. I personally didn't notice any thing different about yesterday than any other day. I actually noticed that most people didn't even know there was a boycott going on. While waiting to leave lunch at the Chinese [Read More]
If you are returning to the site, I am sure you have already noticed that the website has changed dramaticly. I've been in my job for about eight months now, and in that short time I have learned more about web design (not development) than I had ever learned on my own.
I got extremely tired of having to dig through piles of nested tables and decided to rewrite the entire site, removing tables from the layout of the website and replacing it with clean css. I used one of the css layouts found at [Read More]

PDA France released an article about Averatec's new UMPC to be released later this year.
Averatec has always been a laptop developer that has interested me. They have continually brought great combinations of parts to the table, with extremely good prices. I first noticed them at Sam's Club when I was looking to buy my first laptop.
This issue is plain and simple. Illegal immigration is illegal. As the new immigration bill fights its way through Congress, rallies in support of breaking the law are taking [Read More]
Today is a day that I thank the powers that be that I am not a Georgian. I thank the powers that be that my fellow North Carolina citizens didn't elect a lady to (mis)represent me in the federal government by trying to pass laws like HR 3998 - African-American Farmer Relief and Anti-Discrimination Act, HR 4209 - To Temporarily Deny Federal assistance to the City of Gretna Police or HR 4210 - Tupac Amaru Shakur Records Collection [Read More]
Today, Iran tested a mulitheaded war dog that is capable of chasing multiple bad guys at once. It is also undetectable by sonar.
Now to the real news...
News out of Iran today is the "successfully test-fired a missile that can avoid radar and hit several targets simultaneously using multiple warheads". And here is another article about Iran testing missiles in February. And another article about [Read More]
Last time I wrote on here, we had just purchased a new video camera and I said I would write again about it's performance. Well, the JVC hard drive video camera made the long trek to Europe with Katie and I in February to visit my family. Before the trip, I did purchase the extended JVC battery that advertises 3 hours of battery life. I initially bought it from Best Buy, but while I was at a Army base in Germany, I found the battery for $50, so I bought it, and returned the Best Buy battery when we returned.
So how'd the camera do? It was awesome. It never ran out of battery or hard drive space. I shot [Read More]
For Christmas I got my wife the new JVC Everio G series. After making my brother wait around at Best Buy for an hour, then wait at Circuit City for an hour, then back to Best Buy for an hour, I decided to get the JVC GZ-MG20. It has a 20gb internal hard drive that holds 4.5 hours of ULTRA Fine video, 2 builtin LED lights for night filming, a 1/6-inch 680,000 pixel CCD, and a SD media slot for storing still images.
For a while I was considering the [Read More]
MS lovers and MS haters alike prepare! The second coming is upon us. Those that are unprepared shall fall. And those willing to spend $400 shall prevail. The countdown to the Xbox 360 launch has begun.
Xbox 360 launches tomorrow under a cloud of mixed reviews. Many of the negative reviews focus on cost rather than complaining about graphics or abilities. Those that know me, know that I am not a MS supporter, but I have to say, good job MS.
When the Xbox was originally launched I refused to play it. I stood by my PS2 and didn't even play an Xbox for months. Then a buddy in one of my [Read More]
I'm sure by now everyone knows what the Firefox browser is. If you don't know what it is, check it out at www.getfirefox.com. Firefox is a great replacement to Microsoft's Internet Explorer. In addition to tabbed browsing, Firefox has the ability to add extensions, or small scripts to the browser. This allows for programmers to easily create add-ons for the browser.
Since I am a web developer, I continually look at web pages all day long. In an effort to make my job easier, I have tracked down some of the more useful Firefox extensions out there.
